As 2021 has started, the committee have been diligently burrowing away in the background trying to make sense of the new challenges that come with both Brexit and Covid 19.
With the new Covid restrictions we are unfortunately unable to arrange an AGM for our members as we are not permitted to hold gatherings. With this in mind the committee, through numerous Teams and Zoom Meetings, are proposing the following:
Current Members, (2020 paid Subscriptions), will receive in the mail in February the following:
- A letter from the Associations’ current committee which will outline the activities of the committee over the past year.
- A financial summary of the accounts for the Association for the year 2020
- The committees’ proposals for the upcoming year. These proposals will be subject to change given the uncertainty of things at the moment.
- Chairman’s reflections on 2020 and hopes for 2021.
- Proposal form for election onto the committee.
- 2021 membership reminders, (memberships can be aid via PayPal or by cheque)
- Consent for payment of committee expenses
Not only have your committee been dealing with the complexity of Covid restrictions and allowances but also with the effects of Brexit on competition and competitors who wish to compete in UK mainland and ROI events.
As a reminder the following members comprise the associations’ management committee.
PATRON Louis O’Neill
PRESIDENT Ian Campbell

The committee would like to thank the organisers of the 2 events recently enjoyed by our members. It has been great to get the season underway and enjoy our sport once again. The committee also appreciates everyone’s efforts in following COVID-19 guidance issued in recent weeks regarding our club’s activities. It helps our duty of safeguarding members’ health and safety which is always our ultimate priority.
As we are all aware in our new ‘normal’ society, we must observe social distancing and good hand hygiene at all times. In addition, it is an essential requirement that Track and Trace forms be completed and given to steward on entry to event site. This applies to competitors, stewards and all spectators.
**UPDATE FOR FUTURE EVENTS**
All patrons will be required to wear face coverings when on site at an event.
Unfortunately, there will be no overnight camping at these competitions.
There will be a Safety Check for all Pre-Novice and Novice competitors prior to starting their competition.
We acknowledge that the above protocols may cause an inconvenience to some members. However, failure to follow the guidelines laid down impacts on the compulsory risk assessments to be completed and as a result, may put the organisation of these and future events at risk. We cannot run the events safely without the support and cooperation of everyone present on the day to ensure our activities are COVID-19 compliant at all times.
We look forward to seeing you at these events over the next few weeks.
Thank you very much for your understanding during this challenging time.
