Cheque for NI Cancer Fund For Children!!

Cheque hand over 2014 pse2
On 11th February, the NICDA members met in The Four Trees, Moira, in order to present a cheque on behalf of the club to the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children. This was a result of two seasons of fundraising, and brought the grand total to £900.00. This money will go some way toward providing support for a child suffering from cancer, as well as supporting their family. More information on the charity’s fantastic work is available here:http://www.nicfc.com.
The club are proud to have been able to support such a worthwhile cause, and look forward to more fundraising in the coming season. The chosen charity for 2014 season is SANDS – Sudden and Neonatal Death Charity. More information on the charity can be found here: http://www.uk-sands.org
We are now looking forward to the start of our indoor season, which commences on 30th March in Connell Hill. Lauren Ferguson PRO…

The Northern Ireland Carriage Driving Association held its annual Awards Dinner on Saturday 16th November in The Cohannon Inn, Dungannon. A great night was had by all in attendance, with plenty of craic and an opportunity to catch up with our friends and supporters once again. Following the recent AGM, the new committee members would like to thank the outgoing committee for all their dedication and hard work over the past year, as well as their organisation of a wonderful dinner dance. Awards were given for those who topped the league tables after a very challenging season, as well as a number of specific awards recognising prowess and dedication in dressage, including the Bill and Mary Bryson Friendship Quaich, awarded for the lowest average dressage score. This year, the Quaich went to Sinead McIntyre, who was also presented with the Bolan Cup from Horse Sport Ireland Carriage Driving, in recognition of her success at Irish National Championships in September. The NICDA Encouragement Shield was presented to young driver, Ross Ewing. The NICDA Sports Personality of the Year was voted for by club members on the night of the Dinner Dance, and this year went to Sharon Duckett, in recognition of her unwavering support and dedication to both the club and the sport in general. Congratulations to all our prize winners, and we look forward to another season of competition in 2014.  Report by Lauren Ferguson (Club PRO)
