NICDA Membership 2020 – Please note

Those members planning to take part in NICDA activities in 2020 who have not renewed their membership should please do so in advance of their first event.  A 2020 Membership Form and Code of Conduct form are both available to download and should be submitted along with payment.   Thank you.

It’s with regret both NICDA & HSI (Carriage Driving Section) have came to the difficult decision to cancel all driving events North and South on this year’s calendar.

The All Ireland Championships for 2021 will remain in Cuffesgrange, Co Kilkenny.”

One day World cup style event Sunday 29th September. Marathon vehicles and dress, back protectors etc. 
Outdoors on a very large all weather arena,Three classes Very small pony, Single and Multiple. Two rounds in the am and two rounds in the afternoon.Ball down five seconds, lowest overall score wins, over all the rounds Entry fee €20 Phone 0868179175 
Entries Close Tuesday 24th September.
There will be a cattle show, dog show, trades stands along with a ploughing match. There are permanent toilets, stables and restaurant for the weekend.
Any one travelling a distance are welcome to arrive on Saturday please let me know with your entry your planned day of arrival and potential time so I can let the Committee know.
Stabling will be provided free of charge, bring your own hay and bedding, there is no corralling or stabling off vehicles allowed. Please confirm with entry how many stables and how many nights you need them for.
You must be a member of CDI or NICDA in order for you entry to be accepted.

Kilbehenny, 2DE, September 7th & 8th, Limerick

Two weeks left to the last HSI 2-day event of season at Galtee Valley Driving Club, Kilbehenny, Limerick hosted by the Russell family. The event is beside the village of Kilbehenny, 1km from Junction 12 on the M8. The lorry park will be signposted from the village. Stabling by corral or temporary stabling requiring mats. Dressage and cones in field next to lorry park. Obstacles and Section B are in the next field. Flat terrain except first 2.5km of Section A. 6 obstacles, no water. Motor vehicles are prohibited except for e-cycles and para vehicles – no exceptions as this is a working diary farm requiring grass. Galtee Valley caterers on site Saturday and Sunday and can provide refreshments Friday evening if necessary (let John know in advance). Meal in local hall Saturday evening followed by social gathering in Dan Casey’s pub (within walking distance). Entries closing Tuesday 3rd September. Entries to John on 0879160583. If you need to share grooms or carriage please let John know as soon as possible. As this is a new venue and one of the last events of the year, all support will be appreciated.
