Marion Pentland is a former Chairman of NICDA and she and Sam and their son Matthew not only organised Driving Trials, helped by their many friends, but Sam drove in them as well with Matthew as Groom. They had a friend called Billy Gaw who drove a cob for  them and together they had many successes.

     As a team they filled many roles, were highly respected and passed their enthusiasm on to others in Crossgar, Saintfield and Carryduff. Only recently Sam was seen supporting an event.

     For all those who knew and enjoyed Sam’s good company he will be missed. Happy memories of him survive and we extend our deepest sympathy to Marion, Matthew and all other members of Sam’s family.
